Alexander Funshtein

Certified Professional Inspector

“Home inspectors take on the job of finding problems, projecting what may be the future of the building, and explaining our findings so the buyer can understand whether the problem is serious or not. The way we present a problem can sometimes make or break the sale. One of the most important parts of my job is to communicate the problem well, so the buyer can understand the gravity of it.”

World traveled, and fluent in English, French, Russian and Hebrew, Alex has a strong technical background. His education began with an engineering degree from the Belarusian Polytechnic Institute, and he worked as an engineer in Belarus for several years. He then moved to Israel to work as a radiologist and ultrasound technician in a hospital. There, he honed his communication skills, explaining test results to patients.

After immigrating to Canada, Alex completed a computer programming degree at LaSalle College. Soon thereafter, he took the Building Inspection Program offered by Institut Grasset; he hasn’t turned back. “Home inspection brings together my communication and technical knowledge. I enjoy talking to people, helping them decide on their home. I check the technical condition of the building. I explain what they have to do to fix problems, to maintain the building. I try to guide people through their future home from a technical standpoint.”

Alex has been working with the Mose inspection team since 2006. Alex is fully insured and is a Certified Inspector in good standing with the AIBQ. He offers home inspection reports in English or French.
